Puerta Plata, Dominican Republic
One of my best friends got married in the Dominican Republic back in February and I wanted to share a few details of our trip. We flew into Puerto Plata (POP) on Wednesday and got settled into our resort - Iberostar Costa Dorada. Fred and I booked an ocean view room and it was perfect for our short stay.
You can also watch our vlog from this trip on my YouTube Channel here. I would also love if you subscribed to my YouTube Channel as well. ☺️
The next day, a group of my friends and I hung out at the beach until it was time for the wedding rehearsal that evening.
Friday was our one free day to leave the resort and explore a little so we booked an excursion to zip line and ride dune buggies. Our transportation was included and it took us about an hour to get to the location. One of our friends was in charge of booking our day’s activities and told us the company he booked them through was called Chukka Caribbean.
Once we arrived, the guide helped get us set up in our protective gear for the zip lines and then the fun began! There were a few different zip lines - some were shorter and others longer. Our favorite zip line was one that took us right over the ocean!
After zip lining, we had lunch provided for us and, of course, a mamajuana shot! We then went off to ride the dune buggies and drove through scenic trails for about 45 minutes before heading back to the bus to drive back to our resort. On the way back, we stopped at a roadside vendor for some fresh coconut water which was possibly the best coconut water I had ever had.
Saturday was wedding day and it was such a beautiful and well thought out wedding…every detail was a great representation of the bride & groom - a perfect mix of American and Dominican cultures!
It was such an amazing weekend getting to spend time with old friends as well as making new ones! Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Muñoz!!!
