Palm Beach Staycation
Fred and I recently took a trip to Palm Beach for a few days and I wanted to share some of the places we went that are definitely worth a visit.
You can watch our vlog from this trip on my YouTube Channel here and don’t forget to hit that subscribe button. 😉
We stayed in Lake Worth because the initial reason for our trip was a board meeting that Fred had to attend. He is a member of the advisory board at Palm Beach State College and Tideline Ocean Resort & Spa was just a short drive to the school. Although it was wonderful to be directly on the beach, I don’t know that I would stay at this particular hotel again. The hotel amenities were underwhelming in my opinion and I think we would prefer to stay in Palm Beach next time.
Ironically enough, 3 out of the 4 places I am going to recommend are all located inside of hotels in Palm Beach that - depending on what you’re looking for - would be great options to stay.
First up is the iconic Colony Hotel. They refer to themselves as “pink paradise” and it’s easy to see why. The decor in the lobby alone had me in awe. This particular night we had an early dinner reservation so Fred and I got a table poolside and had a cocktail & some appetizers.
After checking out the Colony Hotel, we took a stroll down Worth Ave. This well-known street is filled with many high-end dining options, designer stores and of course, the Palm Beach classic - Lily Pulitzer boutique. Although I am very familiar with her brand, I had never actually stepped foot in one of her stores so I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to pop in.
Lily is famous for her colorful printed resort & beachwear for women, but she also has an array of other items that caught my eye. This particular location also offers a custom shift shop where you can design your own dress. Every detail from the sea shell covered mirrors to the beautifully curated seating areas made this store such a treat to see.
On our final night, we had a dinner reservation at an intimate Italian restaurant called Renato’s. Both of our entrees were delicious! I had their rigatoni alla vodka while Fred tried their risotto ai fruity di mare. The ambiance at dinner time felt very formal - white table cloths and the servers in suits & bow ties. I would like to note this was the first restaurant we’ve encountered that was not fond of our documenting for our Youtube Channel, but we did manage to snag a few photos from our table. Our vlog about this trip will be up soon so make sure you’re subscribed to our channel - here.
Our last day in Palm Beach began with brunch at LoLa 41. This super chic restaurant is located in the White Elephant Hotel - which is also very modern and adorable. Our waiter explained the meaning behind the name of the restaurant which I thought was very cool. LoLa stands for longitude and latitude and the number 41 represents the specific parallel that LoLa resides on. All aspects from the restaurant have been influenced by the countries and regions that the 41st parallel crosses through.
Fred ordered the French toast & I had the eggs Benedict with a key lime hollandaise, both of which were excellent dishes.
I have to be honest, I did more research based on the vibe of the restaurant than the actual menu, so while we really enjoyed our brunch dishes, I definitely want to go back to try some of their sushi and cocktails.
The lobby of the White Elephant Hotel was too cute not to snap a few photos and of course, an OOTD.
I think this boutique style hotel will definitely be a contender for where we would like to stay during any future trips to Palm Beach.
Our final stop of the trip was at The Ben Hotel. Fred and I had previously been to this hotel to grab a drink at their rooftop pool/bar and really enjoyed the views so we had to come back. It is certainly an upbeat atmosphere on the weekends, with a live DJ playing. Their cocktails are delicious so it was the perfect end to our weekend getaway.
I hope that you enjoyed this blog post and that it can be useful if you’re planning a trip to Palm Beach.
