Day Trip to Château de Versailles
Fred and I took a day trip to Chateau de Versailles from Paris and it was so worth it! (If you haven’t checked out our Paris vlog on my Youtube Channel yet you can click here to watch it.)
We took the train to get there which was quick & very inexpensive. We arrived at 9:00 in the morning - right when they opened - to try and beat the crowds, but there was already a long line of people waiting to get in. One thing to keep in mind is that a reservation is required to visit the Palace and Gardens (as of this writing). We made ours on their website which I’ve linked here. Also, if you’re interested in seeing the Gardens, double check that your date of visit doesn’t fall on a Musical Fountain Show or Musical Garden Day as those result in an additional cost to access the Gardens.
The Chateau/Palace and gardens are so large you could easily spend an entire day here. We spent approximately 2 hours in the palace and about an hour walking the gardens.
Pro tip: If you’re exhausted after walking the Palace but still want to see the gardens, rent a golf cart (34 €/cart for 1 hour) to make the most of your visit.
We opted to walk the gardens, but had I know of the golf cart option ahead of time, I certainly would’ve booked one.
There were so many beautiful rooms here and although I don’t have a ton of photos, you’ll definitely want to check out our vlog on my Youtube Channel for more footage of this stunning place.
We also found a delicious Algerian restaurant just a few blocks from Chateau de Versailles so I wanted to include it here as well.
The owners of the restaurant were so sweet & the food was delicious!
I hope that you all enjoyed this blog post. If you’re planning a trip to Paris, I would highly recommend taking the day trip to Chateau de Versailles. Not only is there a lot of rich history throughout, it is also very beautiful and oh so Instagram worthy. 😉
