24 Hours in Nice, France
Nice (pronounced like “niece”) was one of the cities we definitely wish we had more time to explore but in the short time we were there, we could see why it is one of the most popular destinations in the south of France.
You can check out our vlog from our time in Nice on my YouTube channel here.
It was approximately a 2-hour drive from Saint-Tropez but we didn’t have any issue getting an Uber (which cost just under €200).
One of the most famous sites in Nice is the Le Negresco Hotel. The iconic pink dome of this hotel was carved in the workshop of someone by the name of Gustave Eiffel, maybe you’ve heard of him. 😉
Fred and I will certainly be booking our next stay in this hotel as it was truly stunning. We just peeked in to take a few photos while waiting for our Uber before heading to breakfast and we were both in awe of its beauty.
We had a large breakfast at a cute place called La Popote D’Ondine. Fred and I had quite the appetite so we ordered 3 different dishes to share - avocado toast with smoked salmon, eggs Benedict with smoked salmon - and for something sweet - the pancakes with banana and pecans.
It was the perfect meal to keep us full while we spent the morning sightseeing.
After breakfast, we strolled the charming and narrow streets before arriving at Bellanda Tower. It was several steps to get up to the tower - but the panoramic views of Nice made it worth the hike! If you’re feeling even more adventurous, you can make your way to the top to Castle Hill.
This concludes our quick trip in Nice. We certainly look forward to traveling back to this city the next time we are in the French Riviera so I can share more details & places to eat.
