30 Things My Twenties Taught Me
In July this year I celebrated my 30th birthday. With the new decade upon us (2020), I wanted to reflect on what the previous decade of my life has taught me. I can honestly say that I have grown more in the last 10 years than I could have ever imagined, and truly believe that my 30’s will be the best decade yet! With that being said, here is a list of 30 things that my twenties taught me:
Positivity is a choice!
You can’t please everyone.
Take care of your skin (Wear SPF daily!)
There are 7 days in a week…Someday isn’t one of them.
Confidence is so important!
Dress for your body type. You cant expect to look like the size 4 model online if you’re a size 10.
Support other women and small businesses! Build each other up, not tear each other down.
You are stronger than you think!
Follow your dreams regardless of how crazy you make think they sound to others. They are your dreams, after all.
You are an average of the 5 people you spend the most time with, so choose them wisely.
Know when it’s time to walk away from anything or anyone that no longer serves you.
Trust your gut and follow your instinct. If something feels off, it probably is.
Stop putting so much pressure on yourself to live up to others’ expectations.
Embrace your uniqueness, that’s what makes you, you!
Self care is so important. You must fill your cup before you can help fill others’ cup.
Vegetables & fruits are delicious, nutritious, and so great for your skin; eat them in an abundance.
Travel as much as you can and be open-minded to learn about different cultures.
You never know what battles someone else is fighting, so be kind, always.
Everyone struggles from time to time. Life can be brutal, but always remain positive that things will look up and they will.
Family is so important so be sure to invest in those relationships.
Do something you love and choose a career that makes you happy.
Don’t sweat the small stuff!
Its completely okay to disagree with others. You’re entitled to your own opinion but always be open to hearing others’ views as well - you never know what you can learn from them.
Whenever you are feeling stressed or down, get outside! Nature has a wonderful way of calming and reviving us. No matter if its just a short walk outside, or a few minutes on your patio/balcony/porch. (Or for my fellow water signs even a quick dip in the pool/ocean)
Take time for yourself. It’s okay to tell others “no” when you need you time.
The key to a healthy, happy, toned body is good nutrition, alongside exercise. (A mix of cardio and weight/strength training)
Give back to others who may be less fortunate than yourself. I have been blessed my whole life with all of the necessary items needed at any given time but not everyone can say the same. So however, whenever you can, give back!!
If you’re not happy with something in your life (relationship, job, where you live) you have the ability to change it. Anything is truly possible if you have the right mindset.
Drink lots of water!! I know this may sound silly, but it really can make such a difference in so many ways!
The key to having it all, is knowing you already do. Its so hard to not compare your life to others, especially when it comes to social media, but just remember the grass will always be greenest where you water it!!
